The House That Connects

The House That Connects

Building Type : Residential ,
Location : Ghotti, Maharashtra
Size : 2500 Sqft.

Ghoti Villa is conceptualized as a house that engages in a dialogue with its surroundings, whether it be the village street at the front or the mountains spanning across the back. The house features a one-bedroom, kitchen, and living room on the ground floor, with an additional living room and three bedrooms on the upper floors.

Despite its modest 1,000 sq. ft. plot size, this bungalow embraces the slow pace of village life. It offers inviting features such as a traditional ‘katta’ and maximizes views and space through multiple windows and overlooking terraces. The living room is designed as a central double-height space, allowing the bedrooms to overlook it and creating interesting elevations within the house. This was achieved by shifting all circulation areas outside the core central space, thereby wrapping it around.

The constant effort to create warm spaces and interesting corners, while optimizing space, results in a harmonious balance between indoor and outdoor living.
