Wadhwa House

Wadhwa House

Building Type : Residential ,
Location : Ghatkopar, Mumbai
Size : 2100 Sqft.

Two 2-BHK apartments were combined to create a 2,100 sq. ft. 4-BHK house for a family of six. This merger resulted in a grand 90 sq. ft. entrance foyer and approximately 700 sq. ft. living room, which is the most active space of the house.

The design brief was straightforward: to create an elegant space that is also as low-maintenance as possible for the family. The grand entrance foyer leads into the central living area, with a small house mandir to the right and the kitchen to the left. A long balcony, running the entire length of the living room, offers a panoramic 180-degree view of the cityscape.
On the opposite side of the living room from the mandir and kitchen, the dining area is complemented by additional seating in the form of a diwan (Indian seating), enclosed by a swing, creating an informal seating space. The bedrooms are accessed from either end of the living room.

In contrast, the bedrooms are highly customized and reflect the personal tastes of their occupants. The master bedroom, while based on the same overarching design concept, showcases a more personal touch with its contemporary style.
