Project Details

Framed is a thoughtfully designed 750 sq. ft. home in Ghatkopar East, Mumbai, created for a middle-aged entrepreneurial couple and their son, who works as a photographer. Since the family spends a large part of their working hours at home, the space was planned to feel comfortable for everyday living while carrying a lively and subtle design character.

The design language is shaped around the idea of multiple frames as an abstraction of distorted perspective. This concept was achieved by partially removing the wall between the living room and kitchen, opening up the layout and creating space for a six-seater dining table. The frames are not only aesthetic elements; they help define spaces, create visual layers and support the overall functionality of the home.

Black marble flooring was introduced as a strong contrast within the existing beige floor. In the living room, it works almost like a carpet, grounding the seating zone and adding a clear focal area. The same black marble detail continues onto the wall, where it defines the moulding pattern and creates a cleaner backdrop for the family to display their favourite photographs.

The flooring pattern in the passage extends onto the door of the son’s room, giving his space a distinct identity while keeping it connected to the larger design story of the house. The master bedroom follows a simple and neat material palette. An accent colour behind one side of the headboard adds contrast, while the jute soft board continues up to the ceiling on the remaining wall, bringing warmth and texture into the room.

With its open planning, black marble detailing and framed visual language, this home is a graceful example of home interiors in Ghatkopar. It is also relevant for families looking for a home interior designer in Ghatkopar Mumbai or a flat interior designer in Ghatkopar Mumbai who can balance beauty, comfort and daily usability.

The final result is a home that balances creativity with comfort — lively in its details, subtle in its presence and deeply personal to the family that lives in it.
